Kaposi's sarcoma (KS) is a disease in which cancer cells are found in the tissues under the skin or mucous membrane, producing characteristic, flat or raised purple lesions. KS consists of nodular, infiltrating, and lymphatic lesions. KS usually occurs as a disease that accompanies AIDS. This cancer commonly affects the skin or mucous membranes lining the mouth, nose and anus, and also spreads to other organs of the body such as lungs, liver and the intestinal tract.

Lesions affecting the intestinal tract can be treated using medicines like Praval-Panchamrut-Ras, Triphala (Three fruits), Trikatu (Three pungent herbs), Kutaj-Parpati, Panchamrut-Parpati and Suvarna-Parpati.
